The responsible Movement

As an outdoor company with Swiss roots and as avid skiers, Movement wants to do more to preserve nature - and is working to reduce its own environmental impact in ski production and also in the use of its products. In 2005, Movement took over a production facility and has since been running its own manufactory, the AST Ski Factory in Tunisia. Around 115 employees work here. With its product range, Movement focuses on quality and durability. More than 40% of the wood cores used come from Europe. The raw boards are processed directly in the company's own factory, which minimizes waste and shortens supply chains. To reduce waste, Movement uses only black or white sidewalls and black ski bases, as they are more durable in the long run. Edges used come from recycled metal. Movement is currently working on solutions and constructions based on bio-resins and natural fibers, as well as on extending the durability of skis.

FROM SNOWBOARDS TO SKI

The beginning of Movement was the encounter of three sports-enthusiastic people, who randomly met in the early 1980s and, from this moment forward, worked closely together on the development of Movement. In 1999, the brand was then founded in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Due to the fact that Movement was created in the Swiss Alps, it is no wonder that it can convince with so much performance. Switzerland benefits from its high mountains and its numerous ski resorts that were also an inspiration for the company. At the beginning, Wild Duck Snowboards was the basis for the company. They were the inspiration for the young team. Their idea was that they wanted to develop something that makes you feel like you can surf over the snow. However, as the market for snowboards developed rapidly, the young team wanted to change and do something new. So they started to develop skis at the end of the nineties.

Today they develop products for the freeride-, ski touring and telemark area. In spite of the versatility Movement does not make any compromise concerning the quality and the performance of the ski, since the skis are developed in cooperation with professionals and specialists.

After only six years, Movement was so well known that it became an integral part of the market. The reason for the fast success is certainly the young team, which is dedicated to its task with much experience and motivation. In this way, they can surpass themselves again and again and bring in cooperation with specialists and professionals new innovations onto the market.

Movement always looks for the best quality. Thus, only skis are brought onto the market that have been tested for a long time and that provide the best performance.

MANUFACTURING AND TECHNOLOGIES

The special thing about Movement is that they have their own ski factory. This allows both research and development to be completely independent. Thanks to special machines, which are always up-to-date, the most complicated skis can be produced.

In addition, Movement is characterized by its use of sustainable materials. The wood core used in the skis consists of FSC- and PEFC-certified wood. This wood core provides outstanding vitality and delivers the best performance with every type of snow. So you can prove your skills in hard conditions as well as during spring. In addition, Movement is continually developing new technologies to further optimize its skis.

LATEST INNOVATIONS FOR TOURING SKIS

Movement also has a lot to offer concerning the development of touring skis. With their Alp Tracks series, they have redefined this area. The special feature of this series is that it is manufactured manually and therefore only available in limited edition. The skis are mainly made of carbon layers and a fiber layer that was especially developed for movement. With this series, Movement has developed touring skis for all those who love this sport. And thanks to the special technologies, the touring skis are suitable for all conditions.
