The kick-off at Rossfeld in Berchtesgaden in January 2018 and the second Event in Ehrwald 2019 were a huge success. This winter, Maloja enters the third edition of the “Soul of the Mountains” team ski touring race. This time, the whole thing takes place in Schwangau at the Tegelberg. So – the “Soul of the Mountains” challenge cup will be passed on.
The starting signal will be given this year on 19th January 2020 at the event area of the Tegelbergbahn valley at 11 AM. The destination is the Rohrkopfhütte.

If you enjoy the exercise and want to experience nature, you are in the right place at the “Soul of the Mountains” team ski touring race at the Tegelberg. Beginners, hobby ski tourers, ambitious ski tourers or professionals over 12 years are more than welcome.
This winter, families, friends, colleagues, companies, cliques, clubs, and roundtables can start at the ski touring race. Teams of four to seven people are possible – one woman should be part of every team.
For the distance of 5 kilometers, you need no special skiing skills – but you should be physically fit. After all, the “Soul of the Mountains” team ski touring race includes one run. You should also be equipped according to the weather and conditions. You can only start with a helmet, LVS-device and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Helmet and LVS-device can be borrowed in advance at the registration in the start area.

INFO ON THE ROUTE AND RACE VALUATION
The race will start on January 19, 2020 at 11am at the valley station of the Tegelbergbahn (830hm). From there it goes on the ‘Schutzengelweg’ (ski touring trail) past the Rohrkopfhütte up to the highest point on about 1430m. Once there, it goes down from the turning point (change point) to about 1200m, after a short climb you arrive the finish at the Rohrkopfhütte (1320hm). A well-groomed terrain leads to the destination. Time is not measured.
The team, where 4 members (including one woman) arrive first in the finish area and attach its mark to the “Wall of Fame”, wins.
AWARD CEREMONY and casual get together
However, doggedness is out of place in this race. It’s all about having a good time at the “Soul of the Mountains” team ski touring race, and about moving in the beautiful mountain landscape. So the path is definitely your destination.
Arrived at the Rohrkopfhütte and after the award ceremony, the participants let the day end in a cozy or round. In the end, all participants come to the valley – on their own responsibility – over the illuminated piste.

The starting fee refers to a team of four people.
Register by November 30, 2019 = € 120 / team + € 25 per additional person
Register by 31 December 2019 = € 160 / team + € 35 per additional person
Late registration from 1st to 9th January 2020 = € 180 / team + € 40 per additional person (if still available)
The following services are included:
- Warm and cold route and destination catering
- Use of shuttle buses for athletes and changing clothes
- Start documents (start number and starter information)

- Date: 19th january 2020
- Pick up the starting documents: 8.00 – 10.30 am in the caterpillar garage next to the valley station of the Tegelbergbahn. The changing-clothes for the finish area at the Rohrkopfhütte must be handed out with the starting number by 10.45 AM.
- Start: 11.00 AM at the event site at the Tegelbergbahn valley station
- Goal: 14.00 PM on the Rohrkopfhütte
The time limit is 3 hours for the total distance. The organizer reserves the right to take athletes out of the race for health reasons at the checkpoints due to weather conditions or if the racetrack cannot be completed within the time limit.
- Award ceremony: Immediately after the arrival of the last participant at the event area at the Rohrkopfhütte.
