Welcome to the Sport Conrad - ABS - shop in shop
In the 70s, a German forest ranger made an interesting discovery – caught in an avalanche, he owed his survival to the game he was carrying on his shoulders, since the latter allowed him to remain on the surface of the snow. Experiments with voluminous canisters and balloons followed. The idea for the avalanche airbag was born. In 1980, Peter Aschauer acquired the patent after a first-hand avalanche experience
"We focus on the most efficient way to survive an avalanche – to prevent being buried," says Peer Aschauer referring to the essential purpose of the ABS avalanche airbag. Product optimization and better emergency equipment for every skier or snowboarder who moves off piste are the objectives. The new ABS TwinBag is the result of 30 years of experience, ongoing development and the implementation of practical findings.
